Ingredients:

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon butter or olive oil
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Melt butter (or heat oil) in a non-stick frying pan over medium-low heat. The fat should coat the bottom of the pan evenly.
  2. Gently crack the egg into a small bowl.
  3. Gently slide the egg from the bowl into the heated pan.
  4. Cook for 2-3 minutes for sunny-side up, or until the whites are set but the yolk is still runny.
  5. For over-easy, over-medium, or over-hard, carefully flip the egg using a spatula and cook to your desired doneness.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Carefully remove the egg from the pan with a spatula and serve immediately.
