Ingredients:
- 1 lb lean ground beef (90% lean)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 tbsp brown sugar, packed
- 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 3 cups cooked white jasmine rice
- 1 tbsp butter
- 3 stalks green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, and black pepper until the sugar is dissolved.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat with 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned and no longer pink.
- Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for 60 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the sauce mixture. Stir constantly for 2-3 minutes as the sauce bubbles and reduces into a glossy glaze that coats the beef.
- Divide the cooked rice into four bowls. Top with the glazed beef and garnish with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
