Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
- 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup ice water
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt until uniform.
- Add the chilled, cubed butter to the flour. Use a pastry cutter or fork to work the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs with pea-sized lumps remaining.
- Drizzle in the ice water one tablespoon at a time, tossing gently with a fork after each addition. Stop as soon as the dough begins to clump together.
- Divide the dough into two equal discs. Wrap each tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll the chilled dough into a 12-inch circle and gently press it into a 9-inch pie dish.
