Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (15 ml)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced (approximately 12g)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (57g, ½ stick)
- 10 ounces fresh spinach (283g), thoroughly washed and dried
- ¼ teaspoon salt (1.5 g), or to taste
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper (0.3g), or to taste
- Optional: Red pepper flakes for a touch of heat
Instructions:
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat until the butter is melted and shimmering.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant.
- Add the spinach to the skillet in batches (if necessary). Use tongs to toss and stir the spinach as it wilts down.
- Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until the spinach is completely wilted, about 2-3 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add red pepper flakes if desired. Serve immediately.
