Ingredients:

  • 1 (12-pack) King's Hawaiian Sweet Rolls (do not separate)
  • 1 lb thinly sliced Black Forest or Smoked Ham
  • 8 slices Swiss or Provolone Cheese (approx. 7 oz)
  • 8 Tbsp (1 stick) Unsalted Butter
  • 1 Tbsp Dijon Mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Dried Onion Flakes or Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Poppy Seeds (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch casserole or baking dish.
  2. Using a long serrated knife, carefully slice the entire block of 12 rolls in half horizontally, keeping the rolls connected.
  3. Place the bottom half of the rolls into the prepared baking dish.
  4. Layer half of the cheese slices evenly over the bottom rolls. Follow with the ham slices, folding them slightly to cover the surface uniformly. Top the ham with the remaining cheese slices.
  5. Gently place the top half of the rolls onto the assembly to cap the sliders.
  6. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat, or microwave it briefly until liquid.
  7. Remove the butter from the heat and whisk in the Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion flakes, and poppy seeds (if using). Stir until well combined.
  8. Using a basting brush, generously coat the top of the rolls with the glaze. Pour any remaining glaze evenly over the bread, ensuring some seeps down the sides.
  9. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminium foil. Bake for 10 minutes. This steaming step ensures the cheese melts completely before the tops brown.
  10. Remove the foil and return the sliders to the oven for another 8–10 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown, the cheese is bubbling, and the butter glaze has caramelised slightly.
  11. Remove from the oven. Let the sliders rest in the dish for 5 minutes. Use a sharp knife to cut along the lines of the rolls to separate the individual sliders before serving hot.
