Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in semi-sweet chocolate chips, ensuring even distribution.
  7. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  8. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough onto prepared baking sheets. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.
