Ingredients:
- 1 lb (454g) ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) kosher salt (or to taste)
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) ice-cold water (optional, for extra juiciness)
Instructions:
- Gently combine ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt in a large bowl.
- Gently mix in the ice-cold water (if using).
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions. Gently shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from bulging during cooking.
- Cover the patties with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This helps them hold their shape.
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat (about 375-400°F or 190-205°C).
- Place the patties on the preheated grill.
- Cook for 4-6 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches your desired doneness.
- Remove from the grill and let rest for 5 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute.
