Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240 ml) unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 cup (75g) raw almonds
  • 1/2 frozen banana (optional, for sweetness and creaminess)
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter (for extra nutty flavour and creaminess)
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds (for added nutrients and thickness)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, but adds a lovely depth of flavour)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional, warming spice)
  • Ice cubes (as needed, for desired consistency)
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey (optional, adjust to taste for extra sweetness)
  • A handful of spinach (optional for added nutrients and minimal taste impact)

Instructions:

  1. Add all ingredients (almond milk, almonds, banana, almond butter, chia seeds, vanilla extract, cinnamon, spinach (if using), and sweetener (if using)) to the blender.
  2. Blend on high speed until completely smooth. If the smoothie is too thick, add more almond milk, one tablespoon at a time.
  3. Add ice cubes, one at a time, until the almond smoothie reaches your desired thickness.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness or add more cinnamon, as needed.
  5. Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.
