Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter
  • 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (150g) chocolate chips
  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips (for coating)
  • 12 lollipop sticks
  • 12 candy eyes
  • Black licorice (for spider legs; about 12 strips) or chocolate spiders

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease the baking pan.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and stir in the sugar. Let it cool slightly before adding eggs and vanilla.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  6. Allow brownies to cool completely, then cut into bite-sized squares and shape into pops.
  7. In a heatproof bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips until smooth.
  8. Dip the ends of the lollipop sticks into the melted chocolate and insert into the brownie pops.
  9. Dip each brownie pop into the melted chocolate until fully coated. Let excess chocolate drip off.
  10. While the chocolate is still wet, add the candy eyes and attach spider legs or chocolate spiders.
  11. Place the finished brownie pops in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until chocolate hardens.
