Ingredients:
- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 4 cups whole milk
- 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder
Instructions:
- Boil water in a large pot. Add macaroni and cook until al dente, about 7-8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour to create a roux, cooking for about 1-2 minutes. Slowly add milk, whisking constantly, until the mixture thickens. Stir in cheddar and mozzarella until melted and smooth. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and mustard powder.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked macaroni with cheese sauce. Pour mixture into baking dish and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
