Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder

Instructions:

  1. Boil water in a large pot. Add macaroni and cook until al dente, about 7-8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour to create a roux, cooking for about 1-2 minutes. Slowly add milk, whisking constantly, until the mixture thickens. Stir in cheddar and mozzarella until melted and smooth. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and mustard powder.
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked macaroni with cheese sauce. Pour mixture into baking dish and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
