Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces (60 ml) Mezcal (Espadin variety recommended)
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) Fresh Lime Juice
  • ¾ ounce (22 ml) Agave Nectar (Light or Amber)
  • Lime wedge, for garnish
  • Salt (Kosher or Sea Salt), for rimming (optional)
  • Ice cubes

Instructions:

  1. If desired, salt the rim of your glass. Run a lime wedge around the rim and dip the glass into a plate of salt.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine mezcal, lime juice, and agave nectar.
  3. Fill the shaker with ice cubes.
  4. Close the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds, until well-chilled.
  5. Strain the cocktail into your prepared glass filled with ice (if using a rocks glass or margarita glass) or a chilled coupe glass.
  6. Garnish with a fresh lime wedge. Now you can enjoy your delicious mezcal margarita.
