Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
  • 1 teaspoon (5g) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon (6g) sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3g) salt
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil, plus more for drizzling
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) warm water (105-115°F / 40-46°C)
  • 1 lb (450g) store-bought pizza dough (alternative)
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2g) dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1g) garlic powder
  • 8 ounces (225g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup (30g) sliced pepperoni
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional)
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions:

  1. If making homemade dough: Combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Add olive oil and warm water; mix until a shaggy dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. Form into a ball, drizzle with olive oil, cover, and let rest for 15 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, combine marinara sauce, olive oil, oregano, and garlic powder. Set aside.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll or stretch the dough into a circle slightly smaller than the diameter of your skillet.
  4. Heat the skillet over medium heat. Drizzle with a bit of olive oil. Carefully place the dough in the skillet.
  5. Spread the sauce evenly over the dough. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, followed by pepperoni (or your chosen toppings).
  6. Cover the skillet with a lid. Cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the crust is golden brown on the bottom. Lift the edge of the crust with a spatula to check for doneness.
  7. Remove the skillet from the heat. Garnish with fresh basil (if desired) and red pepper flakes. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving. Enjoy your no oven pizza!
