Ingredients:
- 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
- 1 teaspoon (5g) active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon (6g) sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon (3g) salt
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil, plus more for drizzling
- 1/2 cup (120ml) warm water (105-115°F / 40-46°C)
- 1 lb (450g) store-bought pizza dough (alternative)
- 1/2 cup (120ml) marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon (2g) dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon (1g) garlic powder
- 8 ounces (225g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup (30g) sliced pepperoni
- Fresh basil leaves (optional)
- Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions:
- If making homemade dough: Combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Add olive oil and warm water; mix until a shaggy dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. Form into a ball, drizzle with olive oil, cover, and let rest for 15 minutes.
- In a small bowl, combine marinara sauce, olive oil, oregano, and garlic powder. Set aside.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll or stretch the dough into a circle slightly smaller than the diameter of your skillet.
- Heat the skillet over medium heat. Drizzle with a bit of olive oil. Carefully place the dough in the skillet.
- Spread the sauce evenly over the dough. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, followed by pepperoni (or your chosen toppings).
- Cover the skillet with a lid. Cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the crust is golden brown on the bottom. Lift the edge of the crust with a spatula to check for doneness.
- Remove the skillet from the heat. Garnish with fresh basil (if desired) and red pepper flakes. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving. Enjoy your no oven pizza!
