Ingredients:
- 3 ripe Hass avocados (approx. 1 lb / 450g)
- 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
- 2 serrano peppers (approx. 10g), seeds removed and finely diced
- 1/4 cup white onion, finely diced
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/8 tsp ground black pepper
Instructions:
- Finely dice the white onion and serrano peppers. Chop the cilantro leaves and stems finely and set aside in a small bowl.
- Halve the avocados and remove the pits. Scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl and add fresh lime juice immediately to prevent browning.
- Using a fork or masher, crush the avocado until it reaches a chunky consistency, avoiding over-mashing into a smooth paste.
- Add the diced onion, serrano, and cilantro to the mashed avocado. Sprinkle in the salt and black pepper.
- Gently fold the ingredients together with a spatula or spoon until the aromatics are evenly distributed. Taste and add an extra squeeze of lime if needed.
