Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450g) ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 8 ounces (225g) mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons (30g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (240ml) beef broth
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup (240ml) sour cream
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil or butter
- Cooked egg noodles or rice
- Fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions:
- Heat olive oil (or butter) in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion, and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Increase heat and add ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in sliced mushrooms and minced garlic. Cook for another 5-7 minutes until mushrooms release their moisture and soften.
- Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir well to combine, cooking for 1 minute.
- Gradually pour in beef broth while stirring, followed by Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer.
- Reduce heat to low and fold in sour cream. Stir to create a creamy consistency. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve over cooked egg noodles or rice, garnished with fresh parsley.
