Ingredients:
- 5 (5-ounce) cans tuna in water, thoroughly drained
- 1 cup full-fat mayonnaise
- 2 medium stalks celery, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup red onion, very finely minced
- 1/4 cup sweet pickle relish
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Instructions:
- Open the cans, drain the tuna very thoroughly using a sieve, and place the drained tuna into a large mixing bowl.
- Using a fork, gently flake the tuna until it reaches your desired consistency.
- Finely chop the celery and red onion. Measure out the relish, mustard, and parsley.
- Add the mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, Dijon mustard, and fresh lemon juice directly to the bowl with the tuna.
- Incorporate the chopped celery, minced red onion, and fresh parsley into the mixture.
- Sprinkle in the salt and pepper. Gently fold all ingredients together until they are just combined, taking care not to overmix.
- Taste a small spoonful and adjust seasoning: add more lemon for tang, more relish for sweetness, or more salt/pepper as needed.
- Cover the bowl tightly with cling film and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld before serving.
