Ingredients:

  • 2 ¾ cups (340g) all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp (10g) instant yeast
  • ½ tsp (2g) salt
  • ½ cup (120ml) whole milk, warmed
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup (60g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
  • ½ cup (60g) powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups (180g) powdered sugar
  • 3-4 tbsp (45-60ml) milk
  • ½ tsp (2.5g) vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix warm milk, eggs, and melted butter.
  3. Pour wet ingredients into dry mixture; stir until combined.
  4. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise for 30 minutes until doubled in size.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about ½ inch thick.
  7. Use a pastry cutter to cut the dough into long rectangles (about 3x6 inches).
  8. Heat oil in a frying pan or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Carefully add the donuts to the hot oil, cooking until golden brown (about 2-3 minutes per side).
  10. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a cooling rack.
  11. In a bowl, whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  12. Once the donuts are cooled, use a piping bag to fill them with whipped cream.
  13. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  14. Dip the tops of the filled donuts into the glaze.
