Ingredients:
- 1 medium green cabbage (about 2 pounds/900 grams)
- Salt (to taste)
- Water (for boiling/steaming)
- 2 tablespoons (30 mL) unsalted butter or olive oil
- 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 2 tablespoons (30 mL) vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) fresh ginger, grated
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 2 green onions, sliced
Instructions:
- Prepare the Cabbage: Remove any wilted outer leaves from the cabbage, cut into quarters, remove the core, and slice.
- Boiling: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add cabbage pieces, and cook for 5-10 minutes until tender.
- Steaming: Place cabbage in a steamer basket over boiling water, cover, and steam for 7-12 minutes.
- Sautéing: Heat butter or oil in a skillet, add onion and sauté until translucent, then add cabbage and cook 5-7 minutes.
- Stir-Frying: Heat vegetable oil in a wok, add ginger and bell pepper, stir-fry for 2 minutes, then add cabbage and cook for 3-5 minutes.
- Taste and Season: Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
