Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) asparagus, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Snap off the tough ends of the asparagus.
  3. In a large bowl, toss asparagus with olive oil and minced garlic. Ensure asparagus is evenly coated.
  4. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Toss again to distribute evenly.
  5. Spread the asparagus in a single layer on a baking sheet. Avoid overcrowding.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until asparagus is crisp-tender and slightly browned. Check doneness by piercing with a fork – it should be tender but still have a slight bite.
  7. Remove from oven and immediately drizzle with lemon juice.
  8. Serve immediately with lemon wedges (optional).
