Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450g) asparagus, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Snap off the tough ends of the asparagus.
- In a large bowl, toss asparagus with olive oil and minced garlic. Ensure asparagus is evenly coated.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Toss again to distribute evenly.
- Spread the asparagus in a single layer on a baking sheet. Avoid overcrowding.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until asparagus is crisp-tender and slightly browned. Check doneness by piercing with a fork – it should be tender but still have a slight bite.
- Remove from oven and immediately drizzle with lemon juice.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges (optional).
