Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup warm water
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Pour in the melted butter, mixing until crumbly.
- Gradually add warm water, stirring until a dough forms.
- Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead until smooth, about 5 minutes.
- Cover with a clean towel and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Split the rested dough into 10-12 equal portions, rolling each into a ball.
- Use a rolling pin to flatten each ball into a 6-8 inch circle.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook each tortilla 30-45 seconds per side until lightly browned and puffed.
- Stack the cooked tortillas in a clean towel to keep warm and soft until serving.
- Cut into strips or leave whole to serve with tortilla soup.
