Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (approx. 6-8 oz/ 170-225g each)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (5ml)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper (2.5ml)
  • 1 cup (240ml) BBQ sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (15ml) (optional)
  • Pinch of smoked paprika (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pat chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika (if using).
  3. Lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil (optional).
  4. Place the chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes.
  6. Remove the chicken from the oven and brush generously with half of the BBQ sauce.
  7. Return the chicken to the oven and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. Remove from oven and brush with the remaining BBQ sauce (optional).
  9. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
