Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80/20 blend for juiciness)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp (5 g) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp (5 g) Dijon mustard
- ½ tsp (2 g) smoked paprika
- ½ tsp (2 g) salt
- ¼ tsp (1 g) black pepper
- 4 slices of cheese (optional)
- 4 burger buns (whole wheat or white)
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Pickles
- Ketchup, mustard, or your favorite sauces
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined; avoid over mixing.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent bulging during cooking.
- Place patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Chill in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. If using cheese, add a slice on each patty last 2 minutes of baking for melty goodness.
- Ensure the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for medium doneness.
- Toast buns if desired. Layer lettuce, cooked patties, tomatoes, pickles, and condiments on each bun.
- Enjoy your homemade oven-baked burgers hot!
