Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) chili powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons (7.5 ml) ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) onion powder
- 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon (1.25 - 2.5 ml) cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) salt
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) black pepper
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, combine the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
- Whisk all the ingredients together thoroughly until well combined. Make sure there are no clumps.
- Transfer the taco seasoning to an airtight container or jar. Store in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months.
- When browning your ground meat, drain off any excess fat, then add the taco seasoning. Stir well to coat the meat evenly. Add 1/4 cup of water and simmer until the water has evaporated and the meat is nicely seasoned.
