Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (about 1 tablespoon)
  • 1/4 cup (25g) grated Parmesan cheese, plus extra for serving
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
  • Optional: Red pepper flakes, for a touch of heat (about 1/8 teaspoon, or to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat (optional).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the trimmed green beans with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Ensure the beans are evenly coated.
  3. Spread the green beans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Avoid overcrowding the pan.
  4. Roast for 12-15 minutes, then remove from the oven and sprinkle evenly with the grated Parmesan cheese.
  5. Return the baking sheet to the oven and roast for another 3-5 minutes, or until the green beans are crisp-tender and the Parmesan cheese is melted and lightly golden brown.
  6. Remove from oven, sprinkle with extra Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes (if using), and serve immediately. Enjoy your Roasted Green Beans with Garlic.
