Ingredients:

  • 1 lb lean ground beef (93% lean)
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely diced
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce (no sugar added)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 loaf French baguette
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

  1. Slice the baguette in half lengthwise.
  2. In a small bowl, mash together the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, and salt.
  3. Spread the garlic butter evenly across both cut sides of the bread.
  4. Place on a baking sheet and broil for 2–3 minutes until the edges are golden and the butter is bubbling.
  5. Heat the skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into small crumbles.
  6. Stir in the diced onion and garlic; sauté for 3–4 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  7. Pour in the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and paprika.
  8. Simmer for 5–7 minutes on medium-low until the sauce thickens and clings to the meat. Stir in salt and pepper.
  9. Spoon the thickened meat mixture generously over the toasted garlic bread, spreading to the edges.
  10. Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top and bake or broil until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
