Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf (12-16 inches/30-40 cm) French bread, halved lengthwise
  • 1 cup (240 ml) pizza sauce
  • 2 cups (225g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • Optional toppings: pepperoni slices, cooked sausage, sliced mushrooms, bell peppers, black olives, red onion (amount as desired)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (15 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) dried Italian herbs
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the French bread loaf in half lengthwise, creating two long halves.
  3. Brush the cut sides of the bread with olive oil.
  4. Spread pizza sauce evenly over both bread halves.
  5. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the sauce.
  6. Add your favourite pizza toppings, distributing them evenly.
  7. Sprinkle with dried Italian herbs and red pepper flakes (if using).
  8. Place the bread halves on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
