Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoons (5g) ceremonial grade matcha powder
  • 1 cup (240 ml) hot water (just below boiling, about 175°F / 80°C)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk of choice (dairy, almond, oat, or soy)
  • 1-2 tablespoons (15-30 ml) honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, add 2 teaspoons of matcha powder and pour in 1 cup of hot water. Whisk vigorously until smooth and frothy, with no lumps.
  2. In a small saucepan
  3. Stir in 1-2 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup into the warmed milk.
  4. Pour the whisked matcha into two mugs. Slowly add the sweetened milk to each mug, stirring gently to combine.
  5. Optional: Top with a sprinkle of matcha powder or cinnamon for garnish. Serve immediately.
