Ingredients:

  • 2 (20-ounce) cans Cherry Pie Filling (do not drain)
  • 1 (15.25-ounce) box Yellow or White Cake Mix (dry mix only)
  • 1 cup (226g or 2 sticks) cold Unsalted Butter, cubed

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Evenly spread both cans of cherry pie filling across the bottom of the prepared baking dish to create the base layer.
  3. Take the entire box of dry cake mix and gently sprinkle it evenly over the top of the cherry filling layer. Do not mix the layers together.
  4. Place the cold butter pieces evenly distributed over the dry cake mix layer, ensuring coverage across the entire surface.
  5. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown, the edges are bubbling vigorously, and the butter is fully melted and sizzling.
  6. Remove from the oven and allow the Easy Cherry Dump Cake to cool slightly for about 15 minutes before serving warm, ideally topped with vanilla ice cream.
