Ingredients:
- 150g Garlic & Fine Herbs Boursin Cheese, chilled
- 60g All-purpose flour
- 1 Large egg, beaten
- 15ml water
- 100g Panko breadcrumbs
- 500ml Neutral oil for frying
- 2g Sea salt
- 80ml Clover honey
- 5g Red chili flakes
- 5ml Apple cider vinegar
Instructions:
- Scoop the chilled Boursin cheese into 1-inch balls (approximately 1 tablespoon each). Place on a parchment-lined tray and freeze for 15 minutes to ensure stability during frying.
- Set up a dredging station with three bowls: flour, the egg beaten with water, and panko breadcrumbs. Roll each frozen cheese ball in flour, dip into the egg wash, and then coat thoroughly with panko, pressing firmly.
- Heat 2 inches of neutral oil in a heavy-bottomed skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry the bites in batches for 60-90 seconds until the exterior is deep golden brown.
- Use a slotted spoon to transfer the bites to a wire cooling rack and immediately season with sea salt.
- In a small saucepan over low heat, combine clover honey and red chili flakes until fluid and beginning to bubble. Stir in apple cider vinegar and drizzle immediately over the warm cheese bites.
