Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons (85g) unsalted butter
  • ½ cup (120ml) heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • 6 medium-sized fresh apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or your favorite variety)
  • Optional: 6 wooden sticks or skewers for dipping
  • Optional toppings: crushed nuts, sprinkles, or chocolate drizzle

Instructions:

  1. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly. Insert wooden sticks into the cores.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and butter over medium heat. Stir until melted and light amber in color.
  3. Carefully add the heavy cream, stirring constantly until smooth. Add vanilla extract and sea salt; mix well.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat. Let it cool slightly. Dip each apple into the caramel, allowing excess to drip off.
  5. Place the dipped apples on the prepared baking sheet. Optional: Add toppings while caramel is still warm.
  6. Refrigerate the caramel-dipped apples for at least 30 minutes to set.
