Ingredients:
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 6 tablespoons (85g) unsalted butter
- ½ cup (120ml) heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt
- 6 medium-sized fresh apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or your favorite variety)
- Optional: 6 wooden sticks or skewers for dipping
- Optional toppings: crushed nuts, sprinkles, or chocolate drizzle
Instructions:
- Wash and dry the apples thoroughly. Insert wooden sticks into the cores.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and butter over medium heat. Stir until melted and light amber in color.
- Carefully add the heavy cream, stirring constantly until smooth. Add vanilla extract and sea salt; mix well.
- Remove the saucepan from heat. Let it cool slightly. Dip each apple into the caramel, allowing excess to drip off.
- Place the dipped apples on the prepared baking sheet. Optional: Add toppings while caramel is still warm.
- Refrigerate the caramel-dipped apples for at least 30 minutes to set.
