Instructions:

  1. Chill the martini glasses by filling them with ice water while preparing the cocktail.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine vodka, chocolate liqueur, heavy cream, and chocolate syrup.
  3. Add a generous handful of ice cubes to the shaker.
  4. Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well mixed and chilled.
  5. Discard the ice water from the martini glasses.
  6. Strain the mixture into the chilled martini glasses.
  7. Garnish with chocolate shavings, cocoa powder, or a maraschino cherry if desired.
