Ingredients:
- 6 Doritos Nacho Cheese chips (larger size)
- 1 cup (120g) of all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup (60ml) of warm water
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) of vegetable oil
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 pound (450g) of ground beef or chicken
- 1 tablespoon of taco seasoning (or to taste)
- 1 cup (150g) of shredded lettuce
- 1 cup (100g) of diced tomatoes
- 1 cup (120g) of shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup (120ml) of sour cream or Greek yogurt
- Hot sauce to taste
- Chopped cilantro (optional)
- Sliced jalapeños (optional)
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Add warm water and oil; mix until a dough forms.
- Knead a few times, then let rest for 10 minutes.
- Roll out the dough into thin disks, about 6 inches in diameter.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef or chicken over medium heat.
- Drain excess fat, then add taco seasoning and a splash of water; stir and cook for 5 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan. Fry each tortilla for 2-3 minutes until golden and slightly crispy.
- Use tongs to shape the shell while frying, creating a U shape.
- Fill each taco shell with heated meat, then layer with lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese.
- Add a dollop of sour cream and drizzle with hot sauce.
