- 1 cup warm water (240 ml)

- 1 cup cooked shredded chicken (150 g) or beef
- 1 cup refried beans (240 g)
- 1 teaspoon chili powder (2 g)
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin (1 g)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded lettuce (50 g)
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes (75 g)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (such as cheddar or queso fresco) (60 g)
- Sour cream or Mexican crema, for drizzling
- Vegetable oil for frying (approximately 2 cups or 480 ml)
Instructions:
- Combine masa harina, salt, and warm water in a bowl.
- Knead until smooth, cover, and let it sit for 30 minutes.
- Divide the dough into equal portions (about 8 pieces).
- Roll each portion into a ball, then flatten using a rolling pin.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Fry each tortilla until golden and crisp, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Drain on paper towels.
- In a skillet, mix chicken or beef with refried beans, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Heat until warmed through.
- Layer the filling onto each crispy tortilla.
- Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheese, and sour cream.
