Ingredients:
- 2 lbs (900 g) fresh chicken wings, trimmed and split at the joint
- 1 tsp (5 g) salt
- ½ tsp (2 g) black pepper
- ½ tsp (2 g) garlic powder
- ½ tsp (2 g) baking powder
- ½ cup (120 ml) honey
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) soy sauce
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp (15 g) sesame oil
- 1 tsp (5 g) cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp (15 ml) water
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, combine chicken wings with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and baking powder. Let marinate for 30 minutes.
- In a saucepan, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Heat over medium heat until simmering, then thicken with cornstarch mixture. Set aside.
- Preheat frying pan or air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Carefully add wings to the hot oil or air fryer basket. Fry or air fry wings for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- In a large bowl, toss cooked wings with the honey garlic sauce until well coated. Return to the baking sheet and bake for an additional 5 minutes to caramelize the sauce if desired.
- Garnish with sesame seeds or green onions if desired and enjoy!
