Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs (900 g) fresh chicken wings, trimmed and split at the joint
  • 1 tsp (5 g) salt
  • ½ tsp (2 g) black pepper
  • ½ tsp (2 g) garlic powder
  • ½ tsp (2 g) baking powder
  • ½ cup (120 ml) honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp (15 g) sesame oil
  • 1 tsp (5 g) cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp (15 ml) water

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine chicken wings with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and baking powder. Let marinate for 30 minutes.
  2. In a saucepan, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Heat over medium heat until simmering, then thicken with cornstarch mixture. Set aside.
  3. Preheat frying pan or air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Carefully add wings to the hot oil or air fryer basket. Fry or air fry wings for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  4. In a large bowl, toss cooked wings with the honey garlic sauce until well coated. Return to the baking sheet and bake for an additional 5 minutes to caramelize the sauce if desired.
  5. Garnish with sesame seeds or green onions if desired and enjoy!
