Ingredients:
- 2 ripe but firm avocados (about 400g), peeled and pitted
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.25ml) smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.25ml) chili powder (optional, for a kick)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- Very thinly slice the avocados using a sharp knife or mandoline. Aim for consistent slices about 1/8 inch (3mm) thick.
- In a bowl, gently toss the avocado slices with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, chili powder (if using), salt, and pepper. Be careful not to break the slices.
- Spread the avocado slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Avoid overcrowding, as this will prevent them from crisping up.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the chips are crispy. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning.
- Let the chips cool completely on the baking sheet before serving. They will crisp up further as they cool. Enjoy your homemade avocado chips!
