Ingredients:
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
- In another large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Mix in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips (and nuts, if using).
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes for better texture.
- Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
