  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • ½ cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In another large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Mix in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips (and nuts, if using).
  7. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes for better texture.
  8. Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.

  10. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
