Ingredients:

  • 4 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz / 300 g) cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or stock
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup crushed crackers (e.g., Ritz or Saltines)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, poppy seeds, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Add the cooked chicken to the mixture and stir until well combined.
  4. Pour the chicken mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  5. In another bowl, combine the crushed crackers and melted butter. Sprinkle the cracker mixture evenly over the chicken.
  6. Top with additional poppy seeds for garnish.
  7. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
