Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (480 ml) whole milk
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup (25 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh mint leaves (optional)
  • Green food coloring (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Sift together sugar, cocoa powder, and salt in a medium bowl to avoid lumps.
  2. Slowly whisk the milk and heavy cream into the dry ingredients until well combined and smooth.
  3. Stir in vanilla extract and peppermint extract. Add chopped mint leaves if using. Add a few drops of green food coloring if desired.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for 1 hour to chill well.
  5. Pour chilled mixture into a freezer-safe container. Freeze for 30 minutes.
  6. Every 30 minutes, remove from freezer and stir vigorously with a fork or mixer to break up ice crystals, repeating 3 to 4 times over 2 hours.
  7. Let the Frosty set for an additional 1 to 2 hours until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
  8. Scoop into chilled bowls or glasses and enjoy immediately for best texture.
