Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Rye Whiskey
  • 1 oz Sweet Vermouth
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 1 dash Orange Bitters
  • 1 Brandied Cherry
  • 1 strip Orange Peel

Instructions:

  1. Place your coupe or Nick & Nora glass in the freezer to chill for at least 5 minutes.
  2. Fill a heavy-bottomed mixing glass three-quarters full with large, solid ice cubes.
  3. Add 1 oz of sweet vermouth, 2 oz of rye whiskey, and the dashes of Angostura and orange bitters into the mixing glass.
  4. Insert a bar spoon and stir rhythmically for approximately 30 seconds until the drink is well-chilled and proper dilution is achieved.
  5. Strain the liquid into the chilled glassware using a Julep strainer.
  6. Garnish with one brandied cherry and express the oils of an orange peel over the surface if desired.
