Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup fresh finely chopped cabbage
  • 1/2 cup minced pork or chicken
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped

Instructions:

  1. Combine flour and salt in a bowl.
  2. Gradually pour in boiling water, mixing until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, combine cabbage, minced pork/chicken, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and green onions.
  6. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  7. Divide dough into small balls (about the size of a golf ball).
  8. Roll each ball into a thin circle on a floured surface.
  9. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each circle.
  10. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch to seal tightly.
  11. Prepare your steamer or pot with water.
  12. Steam dumplings for 10-12 minutes, until the dough is translucent and filling is cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F).
  13. Serve hot with dipping sauce.
