Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz London Dry Gin
  • 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup
  • 3 oz chilled Brut Champagne
  • 1 cup large ice cubes
  • 1 long lemon twist

Instructions:

  1. Place a Champagne flute or Nick & Nora glass in the freezer for 10 minutes to chill.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine 1.5 oz gin, 0.75 oz strained lemon juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup.
  3. Fill the shaker to the brim with large, solid ice cubes.
  4. Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosted and extremely cold.
  5. Double strain the mixture into the chilled glass using a Hawthorne strainer.
  6. Slowly top the gin base with 3 oz of chilled Champagne. Do not stir to preserve the carbonation.
  7. Express the oils of a long lemon twist over the glass and drop it in as a garnish.
