Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 3 cups (375g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon (5g) baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2g) salt
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) whole milk, at room temperature

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease the loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture.
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
