Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240 mL) whole milk
  • 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon (15 mL) pure vanilla extract
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, lemon zest, and salt until fully blended.
  2. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  3. Pour chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturers instructions. Transfer to an airtight container and freeze for an additional 2-4 hours until firm.
  4. Alternatively, pour the chilled mixture into a shallow dish and place in the freezer. Stir every 30 minutes until slushy but not fully frozen.
  5. Scoop or pour your chilled treat into bowls or glasses. Top with fresh fruit, whipped cream, or your favorite spring toppings.
