- 1 pound (450g) ground beef
- 1 medium yellow onion, chopped (approx. 1 cup/150g)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
- 1/4 cup (60ml) ketchup
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 2 cups (200g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup (200g) tater tots, frozen
- Diced pickles, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes (for serving) (Optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain any excess grease.
- Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the condensed cream of mushroom soup, milk, ketchup, and mustard.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the beef and onion in the skillet. Stir to combine.
- Pour the beef mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the beef mixture. Top with frozen tater tots in a single layer.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with your favorite burger toppings like diced pickles, shredded lettuce, and diced tomatoes, if desired.
