Ingredients:
- ½ cup (45g) rolled oats (old-fashioned oats)
- 1 cup (240ml) milk (dairy or non-dairy, like almond or oat milk)
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) plain yogurt (Greek or vegan yogurt)
- 1-2 tablespoons (14-28g) packed light brown sugar, to taste
- ½ teaspoon (2.5ml) vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon (1.25ml) ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- Optional toppings: Sliced bananas, berries, chopped nuts, a drizzle of maple syrup
Instructions:
- In a jar or container, add the rolled oats, milk, yogurt, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
- Stir all ingredients thoroughly until well combined. Ensure the brown sugar is mostly dissolved.
- Cover the jar with a lid and refrigerate overnight, or for at least 8 hours.
- Before serving, give the oats a good stir. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash of milk to reach your desired consistency.
- Taste the oats and add more brown sugar if needed.
- Top with your favourite toppings, such as sliced bananas, berries, or a sprinkle of nuts.
- Tuck in!
