Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240 ml) Fruit Juice (100% juice), divided
- 3 tablespoons (25 g) Gelatin powder (unflavored)
- 1-2 tablespoons (15-30 ml) Honey or Maple Syrup (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon citric acid (optional)
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, combine ½ cup (120 ml) of the fruit juice with the gelatin powder. Whisk well and let sit for 5-10 minutes to bloom.
- In a small saucepan, heat the remaining ½ cup (120 ml) of fruit juice over low heat until it is just simmering. Do not boil.
- Remove the heated juice from the heat and add the bloomed gelatin mixture. Whisk continuously until the gelatin is completely dissolved and smooth.
- If desired, add honey or maple syrup to taste. Also, stir in citric acid, if using, for a tangy flavour.
- Carefully transfer the gummy mixture into the gummy bear molds using an eyedropper or squeeze bottle. Avoid creating bubbles.
- Place the filled molds in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until the gummy bears are firm and set.
- Gently remove the gummy bears from the molds. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
