Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240 ml) Fruit Juice (100% juice), divided
  • 3 tablespoons (25 g) Gelatin powder (unflavored)
  • 1-2 tablespoons (15-30 ml) Honey or Maple Syrup (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon citric acid (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, combine ½ cup (120 ml) of the fruit juice with the gelatin powder. Whisk well and let sit for 5-10 minutes to bloom.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat the remaining ½ cup (120 ml) of fruit juice over low heat until it is just simmering. Do not boil.
  3. Remove the heated juice from the heat and add the bloomed gelatin mixture. Whisk continuously until the gelatin is completely dissolved and smooth.
  4. If desired, add honey or maple syrup to taste. Also, stir in citric acid, if using, for a tangy flavour.
  5. Carefully transfer the gummy mixture into the gummy bear molds using an eyedropper or squeeze bottle. Avoid creating bubbles.
  6. Place the filled molds in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until the gummy bears are firm and set.
  7. Gently remove the gummy bears from the molds. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
