Ingredients:
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 3 cups bread flour
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
Instructions:
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a mixing bowl. Stir gently and let sit for 5-10 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy.
- Gradually add the bread flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a shaggy dough forms, then incorporate the olive oil.
- Knead the dough by hand on a floured surface or use a stand mixer on medium-low speed until the dough is smooth, elastic, and bounces back slowly when poked.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a damp kitchen towel. Let it rise in a warm, draft-free area until it roughly doubles in size.
- Divide the risen dough into 4 equal balls.
- Stretch or roll each piece into a 10-12 inch circle. Add preferred toppings and bake at 475°F (245°C) until the edges are mahogany-colored and the cheese is bubbling and browned.
