Ingredients:
- 4 Large Ripe Bananas, sliced into 1-inch coins
- 1 Pinch of Salt
- 1-3 Tablespoons Non-dairy milk or water (optional liquid)
- 2 Tbsp Unsweetened cocoa powder (for Chocolate Variation)
- 2 Tbsp Peanut butter (for Peanut Butter Cup Variation)
- 1/4 tsp Pure peppermint extract (for Mint Chip Variation)
- 1 cup Frozen strawberries (for Strawberry Dream Variation)
- 1 tsp Instant espresso powder (for Coffee Kick Variation)
- 1 cup Frozen mango chunks (for Tropical Mango Variation)
Instructions:
- Phase 1: Preparation (The Day Before). Peel 4 ripe bananas and slice them into roughly 1-inch thick coins.
- Arrange the slices in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze uncovered for 1 hour, then transfer to a freezer bag and freeze until completely solid (minimum 6 hours or overnight).
- Phase 2: Blending (The Magic). Transfer the frozen banana pieces and the pinch of salt to your food processor or powerful blender.
- Pulse several times to break the large chunks down into smaller crumbles. Stop and scrape down the sides often.
- Begin blending continuously. The mixture will pass through crumbly and clumpy stages. If needed, add liquid (non-dairy milk or water) one tablespoon at a time until the mixture spins freely and resembles soft-serve ice cream. Do not over-blend.
- Phase 3: Serving or Hardening. Serve immediately for a soft-serve consistency, or transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze for 1–2 hours for a firmer, scoopable texture.
