  • 1/3 cup (75g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon activated charcoal powder (food-grade)
  • 1/4 cup (45g) semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
  • Sea salt for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and activated charcoal until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  7. Use a cookie scoop or spoon to portion the cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them approximately 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
