Ingredients:
- 2 cups (240g) sesame flour
- 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup (60g) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup (180ml) milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for a hint of sweetness)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine sesame flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or fork, mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pour in the milk and honey (if using) and stir gently until combined. Do not overmix!
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead just until it holds together. Pat or roll the dough to about 1-inch thickness.
- Use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top for added texture and flavor.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow biscuits to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
