- 1 ¾ cups (220g) all-purpose flour

- 1 cup (240ml) whole milk
- ½ cup (120ml) vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup (240ml) boiling water
- 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3 ½ cups (420g) powdered sugar
- ½ cup (45g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2-4 tablespoons (30-60ml) heavy cream
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour the cake pans.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, beat eggs, then add milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix well.
- Combine Mixtures: Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until combined.
- Add Boiling Water: Carefully stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth (it will be thin).
- Bake the Cakes: Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool the Cakes: Allow cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely on a wire rack.
